##Excerpt from Datalog 0xB57: [City of Disarray // The Junkers]

“So uhh, it’s been a while since I last checked in with this datacorder. It’s honestly been busier than I expected what with the slow integration of cybernetics into the city. I don’t think anyone really knows how to react, it’s been such a radical change. I mean.. Where do I even begin? This stuff goes far beyond your standard run-of-the-mill fitness watch. This new field.. They’ve been augmenting vision, hearing, fuckin’... strength! And even replacing a low level of medicine with some of the implants they’re churning out. I’ve overheard a few conversations about ‘transcending humanity’ and honestly I’m a bit worried. There’s a feeling of unease in the air, and it’s not just the smog. People have been quite happy getting away with a lot more crime now they’ve got their fuckin’ addons. There’s gonna be a lot of trouble if these rich fucks keep looking for a fight. A couple of my mechanic mates mentioned something the other night, maybe we can help even the scales a little bit. This’ll be the biggest ‘salvage’ operation I’ve ever done if we pull this off. Something noble about taking from the rich and giving to the poor.. Hell, maybe we can even repurpose some of the ‘junk’ we find. Hey, that’s got quite a ring to it. ‘The Junkers’. Time to start fighting back against this fucking city.”

Wow, I really like the melody and mood here. Nice work!

ooh, niice! Got a great grittiness to it. Totally feel that cyberpunk sense of hope rising up in it.

I love the City in Disarray series, you nailed that vibe with all these tracks you've been doing. Its awesome how everything ducks when the snare hits in the beginning/end part of this one.  Gives it a really cool feel.

im shocked these sounds come out of FL.  hoping to learn how to work it this well one day.  everything is so tight and crisp in this song.  the  excerpt is so easy to visualize with how well you represent the theme of the quote in the music.

this came up in shuffle and i knew it was a morty beat! there's some interesting stuff you're trying out with the melody this week - pretty cool to hear an album in one week installments smile

Loving this. It's like a whole adventure in one track.  I was passively listening as I'm working and had to check out who made the track.  This should be the soundtrack to a future John Carpenter movie! Great synths and stop and start feel is arresting.

Yesss the stop-start rhythm is such a nice touch. Digging those breakbeats very hard. Great continuation, I love how you're keeping these tunes so fresh heart

Your synthesizer choices, arrangement and themes are strong as heck! The writing is an extra layer of depth and consistency that I really appreciate. The narrative is the icing on the top. Keep it up!

Not sure I'm using the term right, but the syncopation in the rhythm really brings this one home! Your synth work is impeccable and inspiring! heart

Now all we need is the matrix and we got ourselves some legitimate cyberpunk. Not sure how the radio chatter fits in with the message though.

This is awesome! Killer vibe. I especially like the start-stop nature of the synths.

I was just having a discussion with someone on Facebook the other day about how it's hard to break out of the mold with synthwave and a lot of the genre kind of becomes generic after a while, but I feel like you've actually done a great job of embracing new elements to keep it refreshing to listen to. smile

cinematic!
